(in Chinese)

Changes of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) in hippocampus and cerebellum of rats following exposure to EMP were reported by Ding et al. and the parameters of the EMP were the same.

Rats were divided into four groups of five each. Three exposure groups were examined at 1.5h, 24h and 48h after exposure and one group was served as control. SP immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the NOS expression in hippocampus and cerebellum of the rats.

The results showed that the number of NOS positive neurons and the intensity of positive staining in hippocampus were decreased at 1.5h and 24h after exposure to EMP. At 48h after exposure, the number of NOS positive neurons reversed. The expression of NOS in cerebellum had no significant changes.

The authors suggested that the decrease of NOS expression in hippocampus of rats exposed to EMP might relate to the obstruction of learning memory of the rats.
