[Overview] Recent publications are selectively reviewed to indicate the characteristics of radio and microwave interaction with biological systems. The emphasis is on low-level effects that occur at or below the currently accepted safety standard. This information is then used to examine the adequacy of existing emission and exposure standards for controlling the environmental levels of radio and microwave radiation, and safeguarding the general population from the deleterious effects resulting from typically encountered exposure in the United States.
