An in vitro model of blood-brain barrier was used to study the effect of exposure to RFR (1.75 GHz, 217 Hz pulsed, 0.3 W/kg averaged over 1 g of tissue).

Results indicate an increase of the radiation on permeability of the BBB-model. Highly significant differences between exposed and control cultures were obtained. Thermal effects could be excluded.
